White Oak gathers on Wednesday nights throughout the year at 7 PM for a time of intercessory prayer.
We have a unique grandparents ministry led by Glenn and Sandy Havumaki. This group provides guidance in learning how to better pray for grandchildren and make purposeful investments into their lives.
There are age appropriate Discipleship Classes for all ages including nursery (0-5 yrs), so that parents with infants and toddlers may enjoy a time of teaching and fellowship. At present we are on break from discipleship classes.
The White Oak Praise Band leads our hearts into an attitude of worship through music in our Sunday Worship services and at other White Oak events. They can visit the homes of our church family, especially for those who have difficulty making it to church for services. They desire to encourage others to use their musical gifts and abilities in this ministry.
The Good Shepherd Christian Preschool, located at our Wallingford Campus, exists to promote the spiritual, intellectual, emotional, and physical growth and development of preschoolers. Our preschool strives to provide Christian support and encouragement of parents in their task of child rearing. Visit gscps.org.
Bethesda Evanglical Mission has been serving the people of Haiti since 1984, establishing churches and providing pastoral training, building schools and orphanages where children can find education, love and hope, and coordinating multiple mission trips each year. WOBC serves as a type of home base for BEM and provides support in many ways. Visit bemhaiti.org.
Our teens meet periodically throughout the year, usually once a week. We also plan trips to youth retreats and have various get-togethers such as bowling, game nights or other activities.
White Oak's Women's Fellowship meets for various events, such as a four week study over the summer, a once per month Bible study or an evening potluck dinner with a speaker or activity. We gather for fellowship, activities, Bible study, support and encouragement.
We encourage families to worship together and want our service to include attenders of all ages. Items are available in the rear of the worship hall to help your little ones occupy the time while in worship. We also have an Upper Sanctuary with our service livestream available to provide a quieter area for young ones to play while parents can still be part of the service.
MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers)
Our MOPS group (currently online only) meets on the 1st and 3rd Fridays of each month from September to May. When meeting in-person, a team of caring volunteers provide childcare while the moms enjoy a devotional and a variety of fun and creative projects together. Playdates and group outings are scheduled throughout the year. Visit mops.org/groups/Cheshire-MOPS.
The Hope Pregnancy Center, located next to our Cheshire Campus, provides compassionate and confidential support for men and women in crisis pregnancy situations.
